Praising God, Equipping the Saints, and Evangelizing the Lost!

On September 1st 1953, the Robeson Baptist Association met to discuss the need for another Baptist church in Lumberton. The Godwin Heights community was selected as the new site, Lumberton First Baptist agreed to be the sponsoring church. The first meeting was held December 13th 1953 with 44 people attending the meeting, then on January 31st 1954, the church was constituted with 164 charter members. Weekly services were held at Rowland Norment Elementary school until completion of the Educational Building in 1958.

Phase two of the building program (Fellowship Hall, Kitchen, & Staff Offices) was completed in 1968 and our current Sanctuary was completed and dedicated on December 14th 1984.  Since 1997 additional parking areas have been added and remodeling of the educational building has provided two additional large Sunday school classrooms.
